BDK S-1200 Laminar Flow Safety Workbench

Operating Principle

The safety workbench is a laboratory device that provides a largely turbulence-free (laminar) displacement flow within the work area.

The air circulating through the work area, as well as the exhaust air, is purified in each case by a high-performance particulate filter.

Scope of Features and Equipment

- Model Variants
The safety workbench is manufactured in three different sizes: BDK-S 1200, 1500, and 1800.

- Airflow Monitoring
The airflow velocity in both the recirculation (downflow work area) and exhaust areas (inflow exhaust air) is monitored by flow sensors. Any irregularities are indicated by a warning light and an audible alarm.

- Viewing Window Monitoring
The laminated safety glass viewing window is counterbalanced for ease of use and can be manually and smoothly adjusted continuously. If the viewing window is not in the working position (opening greater than 190 mm), this is indicated on the display and with an audible alarm.

- Control Panel
All control elements required for operation, membrane keypad, audible alarm, indicator lights, as well as the display for various operating states, are arranged on the control panel.

- Microprocessor Control
The microprocessor control system is self-monitoring and continuously displays the airflow velocity.

- Housing Design
For safety reasons, the housing is made of 1.5 mm thick zinc-coated steel with a welded pressure zone.
