Störi Mantel KP 900 AUTOMAT

The KP 900 Automatic Crosscut Saw is an effective solution for preparing material in pallet production as well as other wooden packaging products. On average, this saw can process 27–30 m³ of pallet timber or approximately 20,000 pallet blocks per 8-hour shift, depending on the cross-sectional dimensions of the material. The saw can be operated by one or two workers, depending on the nature of the material, which is manually loaded into the machine.

Basic cutting modes:
1. Manual Mode
Each cutting length is set by moving the material using buttons on the panel or by entering the desired length on the control panel's keypad. The cut is initiated using a button on the touchscreen display. This operation mode is suitable for individual, step-by-step cuts.

2. Automatic Mode

a) A single cutting length is set for the entire length of the input material. Once the cut is started using the foot pedal, the entire material is automatically cut to this set dimension. After completion, the feeder returns to the preset input length. This mode is ideal for producing pallet blocks and allows for quick length adjustments when the input material changes frequently.

b) A required combination of cutting lengths is set for the entire length of the input material. Upon starting the cut with the foot pedal, the saw will automatically cut the entire material into the programmed length combinations. The machine’s memory allows for up to 10 programs, each with up to 10 different lengths. Programs can be easily overwritten, edited, added, or deleted. This mode ensures maximum material yield and is especially suitable for producing timber sections for a wide range of packaging products.

In automatic mode, front and rear automatic trimming can be set.

In its standard configuration, the saw is LEFT-handed, which means the material flows from right to left.

The automatic loading system is part of the standard saw configuration. It is a pusher device running on a precision linear rail with bearings, ensuring long service life of the linear guide and very precise positioning of the workpiece for each cut.

The integrated side and top clamps securely fasten the material during cutting, both to the working table and the rear stop, guaranteeing each cut is accurate and perpendicular, and preventing any unwanted movement.

A clear LCD touchscreen allows for easy and comfortable machine operation. All controls are highly visible, operator-friendly, and offer a clear overview. Maximum ergonomics and well-designed software provide the operator with full control over the machine.

The working table at the infeed ensures that the operator can comfortably sort and prepare the material before moving it into the loading space, reducing handling time and operator fatigue. The table is inclined at 8° and is equipped at its end with a safety flap to prevent material from being inadvertently pushed out of the operator’s reach.

The basic fixed outfeed table is two meters long and partly covered by the safety guard over the cutting area. The operator can safely remove the cut material without being exposed to offcuts, chips, or any risk of contact with the saw blade. The table has an 8° incline.
